Proposed Oil & Gas Law Would Hurt Landowners, HHM Lawyer Says

Legislation sponsored in part by a local Ohio House member would put landowners at a steep disadvantage in their business dealing with oil and gas companies, HHM lawyer Alan D. Wenger writes.

Wenger, who leads the Oil & Gas Law Practice Group at Harrington, Hoppe & Mitchell, published a blog that’s critical of the proposed bill, which would change the way Ohio regulates oil & gas leasing.

“House Bill 152 pulls the rug from under the owners’ ability to reasonably negotiate,” Wenger writes.

One of the bill’s authors is Rep. Tim Ginter, whose District 5 includes Columbiana County.
