John Pogue Retires from Harrington, Hoppe & Mitchell, Served as Legal Counsel for Local Organizations for 50+Years

John L. Pogue, attorney at Harrington, Hoppe & Mitchell, has retired from the law firm after more than 50 years.

He began practicing law in 1969 and served clients primarily in the areas of commercial law and estate planning.

Pogue served as legal counsel for many leading organizations, including Trumbull Memorial Hospital, Second National Bank, Wean United, Copperweld Steel, Trumbull Country Club and First Presbyterian Church.

He’s been instrumental in the startup and expansion of several Warren-area nonprofits, such as the Raymond John Wean Foundation and BRITE Energy Innovators.

“John has been a valuable asset to our firm for many years,” said Kevin Murphy, managing partner at HHM. “His commitment and contributions to HHM and numerous Warren-area organizations will make a difference for years to come. We are proud of the many accomplishments John has achieved and the legacy he leaves behind.”

Pogue’s community leadership roles included president of the Youngstown State University Board of Trustees, president of the Warren Area Community Improvement Corporation, president of the Warren City Schools Foundation and chairman of the Youngstown Warren Regional Chamber of Commerce.

He obtained his bachelor’s degree from DePauw University in Indiana and attended law school at Indiana University.

Pogue plans to continue his work with several non-profit organizations.
