COLUMBIANA, Ohio – Oil and gas leasing in the Marcellus and Utica shales will be the topic of an upcoming seminar sponsored here by Harrington, Hoppe & Mitchell, Ltd., the area’s largest law firm.

The seminar is scheduled for 9 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 14 at the Dutch Village Inn, 150 E. State Route 14, Columbiana. The topic will be, “The Leasing Frenzy in the Marcellus and Utica Shales: Legal Pitfalls for Landowners.”

Speaking at the seminar will be HHM Attorneys Alan D. Wenger, J. Bradley Allison and Christopher J. Baronzzi. All three are experienced in legal matters related to oil and gas leasing.

Admission is free, but reservations are required and space is limited. Those interested can reserve a seat by calling (330) 744-1111.

“The increasing interest in leasing land for oil and gas exploration in the Marcellus and Utica shales is creating attractive opportunities for landowners,” said Alan D. Wenger, a member at HHM.

“It is also creating potential risks. Landowners need to be aware of all the costs and benefits associated with leasing their properties and the best way to capitalize on these opportunities.”
