Social Security & Workers’ Compensation

Attorneys in our Social Security Disability and Workers’ Compensation practice area advise and counsel clients in all aspects of Social Security Disability law and Workers’ Compensation law.
We assist a wide range of clients in securing Social Security Disability benefits, including Supplemental Security Income. We also help them understand the appeals process through the Social Security Administration and the hearing process through the Office of Disability Adjudication and Review. Our attorneys advise clients on their rights to receive Workers’ Compensation benefits in the event of a work-related accident, occupational disease or death. The administrative process includes interaction with the Bureau of Workers’ Compensation and the Industrial Commission, which is the hearing office. We prepare appeals beyond the administrative level when appropriate.

With our extensive knowledge of Social Security Disability and Workers’ Compensation law, we are able to assist clients with all aspects of the administrative processes. We also have the tools and resources to remain current on the changing law related to these areas of practice.

Social Security Disability

Our attorneys represent claimants in their efforts to obtain Social Security Disability benefits. After an application for disability benefits is submitted, our attorneys assist clients with obtaining medical records and evidence related to their education and work history. Early evaluations and reviews of these documents assist the Social Security Administration in making well informed decisions about a client’s eligibility for disability benefits.

Our attorneys also assist with the appeals process, beginning with the Request for Reconsideration and going through the Request for Hearing by Administrative Law Judge. As required by Social Security Administration rules, our attorneys continue to update medical records and evidence throughout the appeals process.
We also assist individuals with obtaining benefits through the Supplemental Security Income program, or SSI. This program is based on need and available for persons who are disabled and have a limited work history or no relevant work history.

The Social Security Administration’s review of an SSI application is the same as the review of a Social Security Disability application and our attorneys are able to assist claimants throughout the process.

Workers’ Compensation

Attorneys from this practice area assist individuals who have been injured at work. We file the initial Workers’ Compensation application and follow the claim throughout the administrative process, which consists of filings and appearances with the Bureau of Workers’ Compensation and the Industrial Commission. This process requires specific information and medical evidence to be filed in accordance with strict deadlines. Our attorneys are accustomed to the fast-paced nature of the Workers’ Compensation system and the requirements for providing evidence in an expedited manner.

Workers’ Compensation provides injured workers with benefits due to work-related injuries or occupational diseases. It also provides benefits to dependents of injured workers and those killed in work-related accidents.

Benefits available to injured workers include temporary total disability, medical treatment and prescriptions, living maintenance, wage loss, vocational rehabilitation, permanent partial disability and permanent total disability.

Our attorneys can assist clients with the complexities of the Workers’ Compensation system and help them receive all benefits available.
