YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – Matthew D. Gurbach, a member of Harrington, Hoppe & Mitchell Ltd., has been recognized as a 2009 Ohio Democrat of the Year by the Ohio Democratic Party.

Gurbach, a Liberty resident, was one of about 20 Democrats honored at the party’s annual dinner on June 27 for their work during the 2008 presidential campaign. Gurbach served as the Northeast Ohio regional counsel for the party’s voter protection effort, training hundreds of lawyers and other volunteers who served as Election Day poll observers.

Gurbach handles business litigation, employment law and domestic relations matters in HHM’s Youngstown office.
