Martin J. Boetcher

Marty is a member (partner) at HHM and focuses his practice on employment law, workers’ compensation law, and civil litigation. He is a member of HHM’s business employment group as well as well as its litigation group. He represents employers in employment disputes including civil lawsuits, wrongful termination claims, OSHA matters, EEOC claims, OCRC claims, unemployment claims, wrongful discharge claims, retaliation claims, discrimination claims (race, age, disability, religion and gender) and sexual harassment claims. He also represents employers in workers’ compensation claims (self-insured employers and state fund employers), VSSR claims and intentional tort claims.

Marty is a board certified workers’ compensation specialist, board certified by the Ohio State Bar Association. He represents employers in both state and federal court as well as before administrative agencies and tribunals. His practice also includes advising employers on a day-to-day basis on issues dealing with termination of employment, employee discipline, leaves of absence, FMLA and ADA, as well as employee handbooks and company policies.

Marty graduated with honors from the Ohio State University, where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering. He earned his Juris Doctor degree from the University of Akron School of Law, where he was a member of the Akron Law Review and the Moot Court team. He is currently a member of the Ohio State Bar Association’s Labor and Employment and Workers Compensation sections. Marty has been part of HHM’s management committee for over ten years. He resides in Howland Township with his family.
